Summit Learning Trust are proud to have signed the Armed Forces Covenant (AFC) to affirm our commitment to the armed forces community. The Armed Forces Covenant is a promise by the nation ensuring that those who serve or who have served in the Armed Forces, and their families, are treated with fairness and respect in their communities.
We are pleased to confirm that our organisation has received the Silver Employer Recognition Scheme (ERS) award from the Defence Employer Recognition Scheme in recognition of our intent to support and advocate our armed forces personnel. The ERS distinguishes commitment and support from UK employers for defence personnel. The scheme bestows Bronze, Silver and Gold to employers supporting the wider armed forces community and their families. Our Trust is now striving to achieve our Gold ERS.
We are honoured that our family of 7 academies, our sixth form college and South Birmingham SCITT have all also committed pledges to advocate their support to the Armed Forces community, and to the principles of the Covenant, with each individual academy also being awarded their individual Silver ERS too. Our vision is to ensure that all children and young people, regardless of their background, fulfil their educational potential and maximise their life chances. As a charitable organisation, we epitomise working inclusively within our communities, embracing the varied localities we serve, and are committed to honouring the Armed Forces Covenant and supporting our Armed Forces community.
