Lyndon School in Solihull, part of the Summit Learning Trust, welcomed representatives from the Royal Navy to the school recently for a session with students.
A group of Year 9 learners took part in a teamwork task with the visitors during which they had to build a structure that could withstand a hurricane, have a working satellite and a telephone line!
The learners heard all about how important teamwork is in the Royal Navy and about the different roles and opportunities a career in the navy can provide.
Abid Butt, Headteacher at Lyndon said:
“I am so grateful to the visitors from the Royal Navy for taking the time to come and run a workshop with some of our learners. It was brilliant to see how engaged the young people were in the teamwork exercise and I hope it helped them develop some skills that will benefit them in school, in their careers and in life more widely.”
